I wanted to give a 4.5 (.5 off for ambiance and staff presentation); But ruling it on the favour for the taste!!! Very authentic!
Tried their Paneer Kalimirchi (black pepper), and Paneer makhani - they were awesome! the breads were rally cool - Tried garlic naan, roti, and aloo parata (this is my last preference for having with entree - its better plain,or with yogurt). Also had Paneer Pakoras for starter - which was pretty good too.Washed down with a tea (masala tea with notes of ginger and cloves which i'm not a big fan of but is a staple) which was nice.
If I get an option to choose one Indian restaurant in the US, this will make it in the top 5 for sure! Lucky you guys in Grand Rapids!

I also have to make special note of Kavita.. She walks extra miles to make changes to meet our need.. thanks to curry leaf team.

In Grand Rapids for work and I always get Indian when I’m traveling. I read the reviews on this place and decided to order from a meal delivery service. This might be some of the best Indian food I have had in a long time. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala, Palak Panner, sizzling 65 cauliflower and butter naan (wayyyy too much, but I wanted to give it a solid try). I asked for medium spice and it was perfect, a nice slight heat in my mouth. The cauliflower I could probably do without. It was fine, just not my jam. The tikka masala and palak panner were outstanding!! The sauces were so flavorful and fresh. The rice was light and airy. Far exceeded my expectations for an Indian restaurant in Grand Rapids. I will absolutely be back.

We as a family went to this place. Being from Southern India, the food tasted so good to us. I bet this would be the best place for any South Indians, especially if you are from Tamilnadu.
But the place got lot of opportunity for improvement to satisfy few basic expectations from Americans, like clear labeling of dish names, contents like milk, egg, peanut, or meat which could be allergy to someone. Atleast the color code like green, and red which is used in India.
The waiter/waitress are polite to customers, but they could have a common dress code to easily identify (atleast an apron will suffix). It is hard to find who is the waiter since everyone is in regular outfit.

Tried the lunch buffet. It was delicious. I grew up in South India and every now and then get a craving for the awesome food cooked with aromatic spices.
Looks like two of the chefs are from Tamilnadu and one is from Andhra. Great job you guys!
Now, if you are new to South Indian food... you need to know what goes with what...
South India is known for the awesome idly (steamed rice cakes ..... rice and urad dal soaked, blended, fermented overnight)
Try the Idly with sambar or Chutney.... dip it and eat it (today, they had peanut and mint chutney)
Yogurt rice is great with a little lemon pickle on the side
Ghee rice goes well with Butter chicken
White rice is awesome with chicken or fish or goat curry.
They also had the vegetable Uppma (made with semolina) which was great. This pairs very well with coconut chutney.
The okra cooked in South Indian spices was a treat too.
Will be back!

Indian to the max, yo might think that you left west Michigan for an hour. You can expect your waiter to awkwardly sit you at a table(sorta of your choice) he will give you the crispy appetizer and fill your water 3 times before the man who takes orders will come and take your order.
Your meal will taste so Indian that you may think they flew it here. We had the Tandori chicken, Rogan Josh, Chicken Korma(amazing), but I want to go back because over half the menu vegetarian!
Spice level high. Expect most food to have a kick.
Great coffee.
Fun Bollywood videos.
Smells delicious.
5/5 would go back asap.

I tried chicken lollipop, butter naan, butter chicken and boneless lamb here, and the food was excellent. The chicken lollipop was perfectly fried and very flavorful, the butter chicken was rich and creamy with just the right spices, and the boneless lamb was soft and cooked really well. The butter naan was fresh, soft and went perfectly with the curries. The portions were generous and the service was very friendly. Overall, a very good experience and surely one of the best places in Grand Rapids for authentic Indian food.
I will definitely come back again and highly recommend it to anyone who loves Indian cuisine.

This is my favorite restaurant--not just in the Grand Rapids area, but in all of Michigan. They serve very tasty, authentic Southern Indian cuisine here. You'll have to drive to Devon in Chicago to find anything as delicious.
I can recommend both the buffet and menu. Tons of vegan/vegetarian options (my preference) but also meat dishes available. The service is gracious and quick. They have been very accommodating with my young son.
It may look like a typical diner on the outside, but trust me that the flavors inside are one of a kind. Highly recommend!

I was introduced to this place by my girlfriend's parents and we ate at the buffet they had. The buffet was great with a wide selection of dishes and it was all of great quality. I came back for dinner a month later with some friends. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and everyone at the table thoroughly enjoyed their food. This has turned out to be one of my favorite restaraunts in Grand Rapids. The food is well priced and well portioned. I often split a dish with my girlfriend and we still have leftovers. Absolutely love coming here to this retrofitted diner. A true gem. 5/5. Will be back.

Have wanted to stop into Curry Leaf for a long time and finally did, and had a wonderful experience at the dinner hour. Simply delicious food, so fresh!! My 9 year old niece enjoyed it very much and so did I. Very kind and friendly service, and I really appreciate this. Dishes we ate were butter chicken ( super tasty!) and I had eggplant in an amazing flavored sauce of onion, cilantro and garlic. We tried the desserts- the milk dumpling in syrup, and the coconut and chocolate popsicles - Yum!!
Check this place out! You will be pleased with the great food and experience!!

OMG— the more dishes I try here, the more I fall in love with this place!
Today, I had the Kothu Vegetable Paratha. First of all, the portion is huge—easily enough for two people. Second, it was bursting with flavor. I absolutely loved it! (Tip: go with medium spice level—it packs a punch at hot.)
I also tried the Sizzling 65 Mushroom—and wow, it was mind-blowingly good.
Don’t miss out on their Madras Coffee and Nariyal Chutney—I’m obsessed with both. So flavorful and comforting.

Ordered via Uber Eats today:
I had placed an order for Masala Vada, but since it wasn’t available, I received a prompt and courteous call informing me. Great service!
I also tried:
• Vada Sambhar
• Puri Bhaji
• Onion Samosa
Every single item tasted super authentic and was full of rich, vibrant flavors. The Vada Sambhar and Nariyal Chutney stood out—they were absolutely delicious.
Can’t wait to try even more from their menu whenever I get the chance!

I had a wonderful dine-in experience today, the food was absolutely delicious especially the Malai Kofta, which was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. Every bite felt like comfort food at its finest. What truly stood out, beyond the food, was the owner’s warm and friendly nature. He personally ensured we were comfortable, took time to talk to the customers, and made us feel truly welcomed. That kind of personal touch and hospitality makes all the difference.
Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for authentic taste and heartfelt service. Will definitely be coming back again!

Amazing Indian food, just wow. The buffet was fresh and well stocked. And it came with this.. not Nan.. but like a crepe, only not sweet. This thin soft and slightly crunchy on the edges delicious bread, with some combination of goodness inside. Sorry, it's been a few weeks since I was there, I don't remember exactly, but it was good. The whole buffet was good, reasonable prices, and the desert was surprisingly good. Banana something or other, and a hot and cinnamony tapioca of sorts. Would definitely recommend.

The food and service was great. Some of the best in the area. It looked as though they were about to start a buffet that they have daily. That looked like a good deal too. It looks as though the space used to be a diner, but the space is still open and not cramped. It was not very busy when we were there, but the service was good and prompt. The food came out quickly and was presented nicely as well. If you are looking for a quick and quality place to grab some Indian food, check this place out!

Really good food, usual indian restaurant service. Not bad but not fantastic either, just proficient. It's kind of a small amount of food for the price but definitely worth every penny and probably more. Can't go wrong with butter chicken and the garlic naan is on my order every time and never won't be. I said that last sentence weird. Casual dineresque atmosphere. Dishes can tend to run a little spicy so be sure to order mild if you don't love heat. Definitely go here if you've never had indian food. Its delicous.

I recently dined at Curry Leaf, and I'm happy to share that it was a delightful experience. The service was attentive, and the food was delicious. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere with well-maintained interiors. The waitstaff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and the food was served promptly. The flavors of the curry dishes were authentic and satisfying. Overall, it was a great dine-in experience at Curry Leaf, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for delicious Indian cuisine in a cozy setting.

The new management here continues to surprise and impress me every time I come in, which has been 3 or 4 times since they've taken over. Every single aspect of dining here has been MASSIVELY improved upon, and this place was already a delicious place to eat before the new management. The food is fresh and tasty, and the buffet is always varied and exciting. The interior has been overhauled, with nice new flooring and lots of other improvements to the atmosphere, which was a little rough around the edges before the new owners. Every single employee here is very friendly and also very helpful. I overheard the manager explaining every single dish on the buffet to a customer who had food allergies. He also likes to give cultural information on the dishes available, such as which region they're from. He also has a great sense of humor. All of the waiters and waitresses are very sweet. This is hands-down, without a doubt, the most delicious Indian food in the Grand Rapids area, with stellar service to boot.

I recently dined at Curry Leaf Grand Rapids, and it was a fantastic experience! The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the kaju chicken. The dish was perfectly cooked, with tender pieces of chicken smothered in a rich, creamy cashew sauce that was simply divine. The flavor was well-balanced, with just the right amount of spices. It was a buffet has GuthiVankaya Biriyani as well, which was highlight for Vegetarians and Non Vegetarians.
The Goat biryani was equally impressive. The rice was fluffy and aromatic, and the meat was succulent and flavorful. Each bite was a burst of deliciousness that left me craving more.
The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, and the staff was attentive and friendly and its big enough to celebrate snall gatherings and birthday parties with ample car parking. I highly recommend Curry Lead, Grand Rapids for anyone looking to enjoy some of the best kaju chicken and biryani's (Veg and Non Veg) in town. I'll definitely be coming back for more!

Absolutely loved the vegetable korma. Very creamy and delicious. Also ordered the buttered chicken, which was delicious, but the korma won us over. On top of that, we also got malabar parotta which we could not stop eating. The portions were great, 2 dishes provided about 4 meals, and the mango lassis were large. The staff were very welcoming, and were very patient with our pronunciation. On top of that, they gave me and my mom two free desserts, which absolutely made our meal. We will totally be returning, and couldn't recommend this more.
~ Emma B
We ordered the Bangalore Chicken and Kodi Pulav and both were absolutely delicious! The chicken was cooked perfectly with rich flavors, and the pulav was authentic taste. The portion sizes were just right and the presentation made it even better.
On top of the amazing food, the service was excellent , the staff were very friendly, attentive, and made sure we were comfortable throughout. Overall, a wonderful dining experience and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic and tasty food.

A technical issue with their website meant my online order for delivery went to a location that was closed due to a holiday. I immediately received a call from the owner to let me know what happened. He made sure my order was submitted to the open location and then even delivered it himself (even though it was a solid 25 minute drive and clearly outside the delivery radius). Customer service and the food definitely exceeded expectations. Highly recommend and will absolutely go back. Spicy curry chicken and butter chicken were fantastic.
~ Megan T
I've been here twice and the food and service has been fantastic both times. They have a large menu which will keep you coming back for something new each time.
The Mushroom Mutter Makani that I had today was very flavorful and the rice that comes with it great in itself. An order of butter Nan bread was a perfect side for it.
They offer a buffet in the mornings which would be a perfect way to try a wide variety without fear of ordering the wrong dish.
~ Sean G
Don't go to the place if you don't want South Indian food. There is no North Indian dish in the buffet. Also, tasteless food for vegetarian choices. Though, service was good and Tandoori Chicken was okay.
Edit: Went here again on my friend's insistence. This time, WOW..😍. Completely different experience from last time. Food was excellent, service was great. And most importantly, vibe was exceptional. Would recommend this 10/10...😍
Take your deserved 5 stars.

This place has delicious Indian food and wonderful service with friendly faces. We were so impressed. We highly recommend the Hyerabadi Dum Biryani - with goat meat - it was excellent. We loved the Chicken Tikka Masala too - it was so yummy. And we enjoyed the Paneer Vindaloo. All with delicious Naan. We visited with 4 people and they didn’t rush us at all. It was a wonderful meal and a great place to hang out with family.
Also my Indian daughter in law says the Dosa is incredible here.
